To my friends
Suitcase, train station, tea in a glass,
Soon I will hear the sound of the surf,
I will plunge into the blooming southern May,
From the dreary rains of the Moscow region.
The night descended and embraced the platform,
Spread out in mirror watercolor,
The carriage rocked and creaked,
Into the past by slamming its doors.
Through garlands of golden lights
The fast train flew like an arrow,
I am from the captivity of monotonous days,
Escaping for a bright dream,
I’m rushing towards her like a white seagull!
