August Август
How clear August is, gentle and calm,
Conscious of the transience of beauty.
Gilding the wood sheets,
He put his feelings in order slim.
It seems to be a mistake in it, the afternoon is sultry,
Sad dreams are more akin to him,
Coolness, the charm of quiet simplicity
And rest from a restless life.
For the last time, before the point of the sickle,
Self-leveling ears flaunt,
Instead of flowers, the fruits of the earth are everywhere.
The sight of a heavy sheaf is gratifying,
And a crowd of cranes is flying in the sky
And he shouts «I’m sorry» to his native places.
